The front of the crucifix features the symbols of the Evangelists - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The Angel for Saint Matthew, the Lion for Saint Mark, the Ox for Saint Luke and the Eagle for Saint John. 
 
The back of the crucifix features the Stations of the Cross, useful for meditation and reflection, especially during the season of Lent.
